Offer Description To study the molecular mechanisms of metal neurotoxicity in Alzheimer's disease, using synchrotron-induced X-ray fluorescence microspectroscopy applied to the imaging of primary neurons in culture exposed to environmental concentrations of metals.
Preparation of samples and performance of protein fluorescence microscopy on primary neurons in culture.
Preparation of samples and participation in synchrotron X-ray fluorescence experiments.
Data analysis for quantitative and correlative imaging.
Interpretation of data in the context of molecular mechanisms of neurotoxicity of environmental metal exposures.
Full-time work at LP2IB (UMR 5797) in Gradignan, under the supervision of Richard Ortega, CNRS research director. Regular missions to synchrotron radiation facilities in France. LP2IB normal working hours except in exceptional cases.
Experience in metal imaging using synchrotron radiation.
Experience in primary neuron cultures and confocal microscopy.
Interest in innovative imaging techniques and data analysis.
Ability to communicate and write in English.
