Offer Description The FiBeGa project (Filling the Behavioral Gap in Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation – ERC CoG SH7) is studying risk awareness, human behaviour, social vulnerability and spatial inequalities. A key objective of the project is to generate and process new empirical evidence with large surveys in several European metropolises. The Centre for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST, CNRS UMR 9194, IPP) is a leading scientific research institution in Paris, France, specialising in interdisciplinary quantitative methods and computational social sciences. The data scientist / assistant researcher will collaborate with an international interdisciplinary team, including survey data analysis, automated workflows and reproducible data analytics.

Requirements Research Field: Economics » Econometrics
Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications Master in quantitative or computational social science, data science, geography, sociology, physics, or equivalent.
Proficiency in R is required.
Additional coding expertise in Python and SQL will be considered beneficial.
Skills in automating reproducible practices, machine learning, and/or structural modelling would be helpful.
Experience working with survey data, heavy datasets, and/or remote servers is recommended.
Interest in social sciences is required.
Experience in contributing to peer-reviewed papers would be helpful.
