.As Sales Manager (Interim - Maternity Leave Coverage), you'll be creating memorable experiences for our guests. Serving InterContinental brands means working on behalf of our Guests and collaborating with other Team Members.A little taste of your day-to-day:Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:Establishing a client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and/or corporate businesses through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel to ensure that room night sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded. Actively prospect and qualify new business.Negotiating guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Accurately producing and/or reviewing all sales contracts, rate agreements, and/or banquet/catering event orders.Achieving personal and team goals as assigned.Monitoring and handling inquiry calls and providing client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.Assisting in developing and implementing sales plans.Maintaining client files and updating information daily in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Producing monthly sales-related reports and sales forecasts for assigned area of responsibility.Arranging and conducting special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients. Entertaining clients in accordance with established company and hotel policies and guidelines.Attending and representing the hotel at trade shows and conventions and/or participating in sales trips to key feeder markets.Following up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.Interacting with outside contacts, including:Guests – to ensure their total satisfactionAirlines, corporate accounts, travel agencies, ad agencies, etc. – to ensure repeat business, follow up on events, and generate new businessOther contacts as needed (Professional organizations, community groups)Performing other related duties as assigned.What you can expect from us:Our mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams where we celebrate differences and encourage colleagues to bring their whole selves to work.
