Created in 2002, iMM Lisboa has established itself as a leading national and internationally competitive biomedical institute.What iMM seeks: At this moment, iMM is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Telomeres, long noncoding RNAs and genome stability Laboratory coordinated by Claus M. Azzalin, under the research project "Regulatory RNA–protein interactions at telomeres in healthy cells and during malignant transformation" (HR21-00077-TELOTRANS), funded by "La Caixa" Banking Foundation, to execute the following activities under the supervision of Claus M. Azzalin:Studying the impact of telomere transcription on the composition of the telomeric nucleoprotein in human cultured cells; Generating telomeric mutant proteins that are insensitive to the regulation mediated by telomere transcription; Characterizing the generated mutant proteins both in vitro and in cells; Characterizing the effects exerted by the generated mutant proteins on telomere stability.Profile of CandidatePhD or MD/PhD in cell biology, biochemistry or related fields.Experience in biochemistry with recombinant proteins, cell biology, molecular biology and microscopy; Experience and deep interest in telomere biology or genome stability maintenance; At least one first author paper published in a peer-reviewed journal; Informatics skills will be considered a plus; Proficient in English, spoken and written; Forward thinking, can-do, pro-active attitude; The international experience of the candidates, although not a determining criterion for selection, will be valued.What iMM offers: iMM will offer outstanding working conditions in this area in Portugal, including a full-time contract, starting predictably in October 2024, and the possibility to work in the interface of research and research support facilities.Working Conditions: Unfixed–term employment contract for a period of 12 (twelve) months; Gross monthly remuneration of 2.294,95€ in accordance with the funding budget and iMM Career By-Law, as well as Holidays and Christmas allowances subject to the current mandatory taxes accordingly to Portuguese Labor Law.
