Job Summary Full time; 5:30pm-6am (Wednesday/Saturday) and 10pm-6:30am (Thursday/Friday) OR scheduling experience preferred Customer Service experience required Microsoft Excel experience required This team is responsible for scheduling all urgent and emergent surgery cases This position is located at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center. Position responsible for coordinating patient surgical appointments, considering the urgency nature of the patient's symptoms and surgery plan. Support the OR Charge Nurse (ORCN) and the Anesthesia Board Runner (ABR) for urgent and emergent cases for HVI, Pedi and Adult ORs. Job Description Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED Licenses/Certifications: (none) Experience / Knowledge / Skills: One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred, in some departments may be required Ability to read and write and perform duties following oral and written instruction. Ability to work various shifts for extended periods as determined by the director Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds Principal Accountabilities Assists the OR Environment/Holding Area Clinical Manager with planning, organizing, scheduling department workload, and making daily work assignments. Assists the OR Environment/Holding Area Clinical Manager with managing departmental employees: provides daily performance feedback to employees as required, gives input into performance appraisals, conducts quality inspections, participates in interviews, and supervises employee training processes. Inspects physical condition of facility and takes appropriate corrective actions. As needed, will assist with physical preparation of patient and physical environment according to the age/needs of the patient/population served. Transports and transfers patients as necessary. Functions as a porter between departments ensuring required medical supplies, information, specimens, and products are delivered in a timely fashion. Collaborates with Holding Area Nurse to provide staffing resources to the Holding Area. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all MemorialHermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service
