Job Summary
Position is responsible for coordinating & facilitating the performance improvement process by interfacing with all departments to ensure the implementation of the hospital performance improvement plans & initiatives as well as supporting/ensuring compliance with Joint Commission & other regulatory standards; regularly meets with assigned departments for strategic planning on clinical outcomes, regulatory standards, system goals & objectives, customer & physician satisfaction, performance improvement & cost effectiveness.
Job Description Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing, other clinical discipline or healthcare administration
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Two (2) years clinical experience to ensure knowledge base sufficient to support clinical performance improvement initiatives.
Three (3) years experience implementing performance improvement process/initiatives including two (2) years experience with implementation of local, state or federal regulations &/or Joint Commission standards & in the development of policies & procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Demonstrates proficiency in word processing, development of spreadsheets & statistical analysis.
Principal Accountabilities
Provides performance improvement consultation & support to hospital leadership, medical executive committees and other areas as necessary.
Provides ongoing staff education on clinical and operational performance improvement initiatives.
Prepares hospital-wide performance improvement reports as directed, identifying/analyzing trends & areas of focus.
Maintains current knowledge of Joint Commission & other regulatory agencies' standards/regulations; instructs & directs staff on Joint Commission standards to ensure compliance as assigned.
Organizes & coordinates new employee documentation review; reviews & revises existing policies/ procedures.
Coordinates, develops & implements special projects as directed by members of the executive team.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth & development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, & resource to less experienced staff.
