Job Summary Position is responsible for coordinating & facilitating the performance improvement process by interfacing with all departments to ensure the implementation of the hospital performance improvement plans & initiatives as well as supporting/ensuring compliance with Joint Commission & other regulatory standards; regularly meets with assigned departments for strategic planning on clinical outcomes, regulatory standards, system goals & objectives, customer & physician satisfaction, performance improvement & cost effectiveness.
Job DescriptionMinimum Qualifications Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing, other clinical discipline or healthcare administration
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Two (2) years clinical experience to ensure knowledge base sufficient to support clinical performance improvement initiatives.Three (3) years experience implementing performance improvement process/initiatives including two (2) years experience with implementation of local, state or federal regulations &/or Joint Commission standards & in the development of policies & procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.Demonstrates proficiency in word processing, development of spreadsheets & statistical analysis.Principal Accountabilities Provides performance improvement consultation & support to hospital leadership, medical executive committees and other areas as necessary.Provides ongoing staff education on clinical and operational performance improvement initiatives.Prepares hospital-wide performance improvement reports as directed, identifying/analyzing trends & areas of focus.Maintains current knowledge of Joint Commission & other regulatory agencies' standards/regulations; instructs & directs staff on Joint Commission standards to ensure compliance as assigned.Organizes & coordinates new employee documentation review; reviews & revises existing policies/ procedures.Coordinates, develops & implements special projects as directed by members of the executive team.Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.Promotes individual professional growth & development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, & resource to less experienced staff.Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.Other duties as assigned.
