About the Role This role is remote, Portugal based, and the successful candidate must have good English language skills.
Key responsibilities include:
Data entry and transaction recording: Inputting financial transactions into the accounting system, including sales, purchases, payroll, and expenses.
Account reconciliation: Matching bank statements to corresponding accounting records to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
General ledger maintenance: Keeping the general ledger updated with accurate financial information, performing account reconciliations and variance analysis.
Accounts receivable management: Tracking customer invoices and ensuring timely payments. Liaise with clients on queries and reconciliations
Monthly/Year-end closing: Performing necessary accounting procedures to close the books at the end of each accounting period.
Audit preparation: Gathering documentation and supporting information for external audits.
Compliance with accounting standards: Ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
About You The successful candidate will have:
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP & IFRS) and practices.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
2+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts receivable preferred.
Experience working at a global company with entities in the UK and US.
High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Experience with Xero or Netsuite, and Salesforce.
High attention to accuracy and detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
Exceptional work ethic, with the discernible ability to "roll up your sleeves" and lead by example.
