Job Description
Managing and maintaining all IT operational applications and systems for both Mystic and Mystic Ocean ships and HQ, mainly MXP modules, PBX and IPTV. Maintaining shoreside DB and application servers based in Altice data center. As this is a shoreside position based in Porto, a remote access to all systems onboard and shoreside will be provided. Reports to Chief Engineer onboard and IT Director shoreside.
Qualifications
Holding BSc. degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Essential language is English is mandatory, able to communicate in other languages is an advantage.
Experience as an IT specialist, support, network admin, or system admin role.
Experience with MXP or similar systems is preferable.
Basic knowledge with POS systems.
Experience in managing print servers and able to troubleshoot printing issues.
Able to work with DB servers such as MS SQL.
Wide knowledge of systems/programs including MS Office, Windows (desktop and server), O365, troubleshooting and investigating end-user errors including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Teams.
Experience with TCP/IP based networks including basic switching, routing, and basic firewall technology.
Good knowledge with VMware environment.
Basic knowledge about IPTV, UDP and TV broadcasting.
Able to maintain regular DB backups.
Basic knowledge about video and audio systems.
Basic knowledge about VSAT communications is an advantage.
Awareness of basic Cyber Security knowledge and Cyber Risk Management.
Basic knowledge about Microsoft WSUS, DNS, DHCP, AD & GPOs.
Strong knowledge dealing with antivirus SW such as KAV Check Point…etc.
Above average skills in tactful problem handling.
Flexibility and open mind to be able to work in a multicultural environment.
Skills to quickly assess and investigate incidents and make quick and correct decisions under pressure.
Proven ability to work in a harmonious productive team environment.
Able to work in collaboration with all departments in shoreside to assure the operational applications are always in good condition to maintain the business continuity.
Able to travel and to work onboard of the ships is a must.
