To strengthen our Team in Samora Correia, Portugal we are looking for a Service Manager (f/m/d).
Your Tasks
Plan and coordinate workshop repairs, assigning the necessary material and human resources to each one of them.
Collaborate closely with the technical and administrative teams.
Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards in all repair activities.
Optimize repair processes and services for maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and safety, while maximizing investments and reducing costs.
Develop and implement the workshop's technical and commercial strategy, ensuring short- and medium-term business plans are followed and leading customer acquisition, retention, and service quality efforts.
Manage the Service Technicians team, providing guidance and ongoing support.
Monitor and evaluate team performance, implementing improvements to boost workshop efficiency.
Organize training and continuous development for the Service Team.
Oversee the management of maintenance and service contracts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external customers, suppliers, and partner workshops, including those in specific industries (railway, platforms, marine, etc.).
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decisions on pricing, resource allocation, time management, and other relevant factors.
Prepare regular reports on service activities and present recommendations for process optimization.
Ensure adherence to Palfinger's quality and HSE standards, as well as environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Communicate proactively and openly with the local management team and Palfinger Iberica's team, seeking internal synergies.
Your Qualification
Technical education in engineering field
Minimum 5 years of experience in the machinery or service sector, such as the automotive, truck, or industrial industries.
Experience working directly with end-customers.
Experience in a rental company that has its own workshop is a plus.
Experience in coordinating teams in a shop environment, preferably in repair or service.
Native Portuguese and advanced English level required; Spanish will be considered as a plus.
Soft skills: autonomy, proactivity, leadership, teamwork, communication, analytical thinking, flexibility, and focus on achieving objectives and results.
Willingness to travel on regular basis (up to 10% of the time)
