.Manager Operations Rio Maior Sibelco is a global material solutions company. We mine, process and sell industrial minerals at locations worldwide, focused primarily on silica, clays, feldspathics and olivine. We are also leaders in glass recycling. The Sibelco Group operates over 110 production sites in 31 countries, with a team of over 5,000 people. Location: Rio Maior As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for organizing, optimizing, and continuously improving the operational, production, and maintenance activities within our Rio Maior site, with a team of 35 members + contractors. This site is dedicated to the production of high-quality silica sand and Kaolin. You will ensure that our mines, quarries, and processing plants operate efficiently and safely while maintaining high standards in quality, environmental compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will play a critical role in driving operational performance and implementing the principles of Operational Excellence across the cluster. You will also be responsible for leading and developing your team to ensure the continuity and long-term sustainability of our operations. In the role of Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Safety Leadership Ensure compliance with safety standards and lead all safety initiatives across the plant. Support and promote a zero-harm approach to operational safety. Production Process Management Direct and manage production operations to meet customer needs while ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance. Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and eliminate waste. Oversee the physical condition of all facilities, ensuring regular upkeep and CAPEX planning. Product Management Manage product specifications, stock levels, and performance across all sites within the cluster. Participate actively in scheduling and performance meetings. Manage production and maintenance budgets, including OPEX and CAPEX, to achieve financial goals. Monitor and report on budgetary performance. Site Leadership Oversee recruitment, training, and personnel development to ensure optimal site operations. Audit and improve plant operations, addressing quality and safety concerns proactively. Continuous Improvement Implement and maintain excellent production processes, driving continuous improvement in all operations. To be successful in the role of Operations Manager, you have: A degree in business, mining, engineering, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 8 years of production and maintenance team leadership experience in the mineral industry or a similar/related industry. Experience in Health and Safety Leadership, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence principles. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive results and build effective teams
