Office Tour: Click here Infinera is seeking a Senior VAT Analyst focusing on both VAT Compliance and Advisory to join its EMEA Tax team based in Lisbon, Portugal. The successful candidate will have experience in international VAT, ideally including experience with a multinational company within the EU. Your responsibilities will be across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). You will be interacting with other members of the Finance team, as well as business partners outside of finance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Support the VAT Compliance process within EMEA, including:Support in the preparation and review of VAT Returns (including ECSL and Intrastat returns), generally prepared by external advisors, for the EMEA entities.Liaise with colleagues in Finance and Billing teams and collaborate with the company's external advisors to ensure all required information for the preparation of the VAT returns is provided in a timely manner for the submission of the returns.Support in account reconciliation and clearings of VAT accounts.Assist with the VAT payment process across the EMEA region.Assist in preparing cash tax forecasts and tax expense forecasting.Prepare journal entries.VAT advisory:Support the Billing and Order Management teams with the issuance of invoices including the correct VAT treatment.Assist the Sales team with the determination of the correct VAT treatment with respect to business transactions.Work collaboratively with colleagues in different teams whenever customers challenge the VAT treatment of invoices issued by group entities, including clarifying the applicable VAT treatment.Opportunity for involvement in ad hoc projects, e.g. legal entity rationalization, tax audit support, etc.Tax administration tasks, e.g. maintain various tax filings/compliance calendar.Support internal and external audits, providing information to external auditors in compliance with SOX requirements.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Qualified Taxation professional, experience of working in-house would be beneficial. Minimum 3 years of experience.Solid VAT knowledge regarding international transactions (B2B supplies of goods and services within the EU and to customers located outside of the EU).Experience working as part of a Global Tax Team is a plus.Ability to multi-task and to adapt to changing priorities.Senior level Excel skills.Knowledge of SAP is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in English (written and oral) required.Other:Flexible working hours and hybrid work location.Attractive compensation package and additional benefits.This position requires direct or indirect access to certain confidential information, hardware, software, technology, or technical information controlled under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
