Role Summary:The Senior Payments Officer oversees automated and manual payment processes, addressing exceptions and rejections to ensure smooth and accurate financial transactions within the organization.
Location: Lisbon, PortugalWorking hours: Full-timeContract type: Direct employmentWhat can you expect as a Senior Payments Officer at Scandinavian Tobacco Group? Your primary tasks will be:The Senior Payments Officer is responsible for payment processing and exceptions handling.
Leadership and development:Provide support to the payments lead in achieving team objectives and assist in fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.Take the initiative to solve problems or inefficiencies and propose suggestions for improvement, collaborating with team members to implement solutions.Schedule meetings with the RTR solution lead to provide status updates on the work.Operational Responsibilities:Ensure payments are processed timely.Review manual payment requests and ensure they adhere to the organization's payment policy.Coordinate with the treasury team to check fund availability for manual payment processing and relay with users on approval or rejections of manual payment requests.Create manual payment proposals (including cheque payments) and coordinate with leadership to obtain adequate approvals.Coordinate with different stakeholders such as vendor helpdesk, IT, and vendors to identify reasons and seek clarifications for any exceptions noted.Performance & Efficiency:Implement validation checks to enhance accuracy in the payments ecosystem.Utilize payments management systems and ecosystem efficiently, optimizing features to enhance productivity.Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):Preferred Educational Requirements - BA/BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance.Experience and skills – Total relevant experience of 3-5 years.Knowledge of SAP S4 HANA - ERP.Knowledge of STP processes and the payments landscape regionally/globally.Strong understanding of the business.Strong communication and analytical skills.How to Apply:If you are ready to be a part of our exciting journey at STG, please apply by including your resume and highlighting your experience, as well as any other relevant information you would like to share with us.
