Scientific area: Agricultural Sciences or related
Admission requirements:
Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences or related.
Experience in Plant Protection.
Laboratory research experience with molecular technologies, endpoint and quantitative PCR.
Experience in Plant-Pathogen interactions.
Experience in DNA cloning.
Work plan:
Extraction of DNA and RNA from microorganisms.
Evaluation, quantification and analysis of nucleic acids.
Endpoint and real-time PCR amplification.
Bioinformatic analysis of sequences.
Statistical analysis of the results.
Writing of articles for dissemination of the results obtained.
The final goal of this work is the molecular characterization of fungal isolates and evaluation of symptoms caused by these microorganisms in fruits.
Place of work: The work will be developed at Laboratory of Plant Virology, MED, of the University of Évora, under the general coordination of the Administrator of the University of Évora and the scientific guidance of the Professor Maria do Rosário Félix.
Duration of the scholarship: The scholarship will have a duration of 5 months, starting on November 2024. The scholarship contract may be renewed until the end of the funding project's budget allocation.

Application deadline and submission of applications: The tender is open from 18th October to 4th November of 2024 and the results of the selection will be published by 16th November 2024.
