The Position The Senior Specialist will work with a globally diverse set of teams of SAP Basis, Security, SAP Development, SAP functional team members, Infrastructure team and other IT process partners providing support for existing and new global clients.
Perform required administration, monitoring and troubleshooting of Organon's SAP systems.
Responsibilities As part of Basis project team will work in partnership with other project teams.Establish SAP specific technical standards by working closely with implementation teams.Evaluate SAP products offered by SAP and/or 3rd party providers, as part of ongoing and future product strategy.Provide staff leadership as required, on product specific direction.Manage landscape strategy and design, help develop and manage upgrade strategy (focus on SAP Security & Basis).Evaluate and pilot new technologies.Work within the technical teams on issue resolutions.Collaborate with other infrastructure and application support teams on projects and maintenance activities.Act as mentor/technical expert for fellow team members.Development and support of new and existing automation scenarios for SAP hosting e.g. SAP System Provisioning, SAP System Refresh, OS/DB/SAP Kernel patching etc.Work as part of a global team responsible for ensuring optimal availability and integrity of the SAP system landscapes at Organon.Ensure security vulnerabilities are detected and patched on time by working with various teams (i.e. SAP, Organon Infrastructure, etc.).Required Education, Experience, and Skills Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
Required Experience and Skills:
At least 8 years of hand on experience on SAP Basis with multiple full life cycle implementations.Experience in supporting SAP S/4, BW4, GTS, GRC, ATTP, GBT, Solution Manager, NetWeaver, Hana, Fiori and BTP.SAP Environment Planning: creation, refreshes, back-up, and recovery.Experience with various operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, etc.).Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong understanding of SAP system copies and refresh procedures (client copy, system copy, system refresh).Knowledge of SAP system configuration and authorization concepts.Good English language skills.Good knowledge of SAP system administration best practices, SAP system architecture, and integration with other SAP and non-SAP systems.Experience in SAP system monitoring and troubleshooting in different Basis areas, ranging from transports to performance analysis, operating system administration (Linux), database administration (HANA) and dump/log analysis.Experience in Cloud Hosting environment (i.e. SAP-HEC, RISE, AWS, Azure, etc.).Knowledge of SAP SaaS systems (e.g. IBP, SAC, etc.).Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills SAP Roadmap Administration: timing of upgrades, service/enhancement packs, and implementation of new modules.SAP Change and Transport Management Strategy, including CHARM.At least 3 years of OS/database administration experience.Working experience in SAP FIORI and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).Knowledge of SAP Security Authorizations.Experience with following Project Tools & Methodologies: JIRA, Live Compare, Service Now.Experience in life science / pharmaceutical industry.Very knowledgeable in SAP ERP Basis administration, Cloud platforms migration and SAP HANA DB Administration.Adept at understanding customer challenges, navigating from problem to resolution and communicating process and resolution effectively both verbally and in writing.Demonstrated ability to interact comfortably with all levels of management and staff.Who We Are: Organon delivers ingenious health solutions that enable people to live their best lives.
