A Reservations, Groups, Meetings and Events Manager is responsible for leading both team's highest standards by validating the quality and efficiency of our services and achieving occupancy targets/levels as identified in the annual budget and marketing plan.
What will I be doing?
As a Reservations & GM&E Manager you will work with the Commercial team (Reservations, Sales & Marketing, Groups and events) to develop future and repeat business opportunities. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Maximise occupancy levels by reviewing and revising revenue strategies
Work with the Sales and Events Teams to maximise individual, corporate and group rates
Ensure proper implementation of reservations procedures, and maximise conversion ratios in order to achieve targets for the department
Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments' adherence to achieving that strategy
Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market, to know and promote the hotel facilities and also to have the knowledge of our competitors' strengths and weakness
Participate in the organisation of hotel promotional activities
Get involved with the negotiations for groups and events to maximize the results
Support the GM&E Team with the coordination of the "function meeting" with the vital information about the groups and events that will happen in the next 10 days
Be responsible for the weekly communication meeting with the coordinators
Organize the hotel's visit and attend the unexpected requests in coordination with the GM&E and Sales teams
Monitor daily GM&E activities on the hotels systems, ensuring that information is correct and consistent to be in the Groups Report - Review rates, groups, deadlines and waiting lists
Review commission reports for groups, events and Food and Beverage
Make sure that all the request (individual and Groups) should be answered in 24 hours
Keep yourself informed about the clients and engage the relationship with them
To keep a nice work environment and good communication in the department and also with the other departments in the hotel to ensure compliance with Brand Standards and ensuring customer/guest satisfaction
Ensure Team Members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts
Build strong relationships with customers, Guests and Team Members in order to gain full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively
Assist in the recruiting, managing, training and developing of the Team
What are we looking for?
A Reservations and Groups, Meeting and Events Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a high-performing team positioned to exceed targets
Ability to manage stress situations, always promoting a constructive and positive attitude
Previous sales and events / banquets, preferably in Hotel, and positions of leadership and supervision teams
Complete Graduate Degree or MBA in Management or Hospitality
Excellent selling capabilities and the ability and desire to coach selling techniques to Team Members
Excellent organisation and planning skills
Critical analysis to strategically evaluate the sales of shares to be taken, strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
Ability to analyze and manage multiple tasks and solve problems quickly and efficiently
Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations and navigate two teams
Good written and verbal communication
Fluent English and a second language desirable, Portuguese speaker would be a plus
