NoOffer DescriptionWork Environment:The researcher will be based at the MIVEGEC research unit. S/he will have access to dedicated biosafety 2 infrastructure for cellular biology and microbiology, as well as to molecular biology and protein biology laboratories. S/he will have access to in-site computational facilities at the IRD bioinformatic cluster. Full time on site, except for missions/projects (in Montpellier, France and abroad). Office hours which may also include exceptional hours due to the nature of experimental design (weekends, public holidays).Main Mission:To study the evolutionary mechanisms that generate proteomic diversity in viruses that cause chronic infections, and their impact on viral fitness in terms of quality, duration and intensity of the immune response, productivity and potential for transmission of infection.Activities:Bioinformatics analysis, including comparative analysis of transcriptomic data (RNA-Seq), proteomic data (label-free proteomics), cytometry, real-time cell growth (xcelligence).Advanced statistical analysis of data, interpretation of results, report generation.Evolutionary analyses.If necessary, development of methodologies.Regular reading of articles and writing of scientific articles.Contribution to the scientific life of the team.Training and supervision of students.Contribute to the training and technical supervision of other users of bioinformatics tools.Participation in international conferences.Contribution to the design and monitoring of selection and biological competition experiments.Molecular and cellular biology in confined L2 environments (genes, oncogenes or viral genomes), protein biochemistry.Conception, design and execution of experiments, interpretation of results, generation of reports.Where to ApplyE-mail: ****** Field: Biological sciences » BiologyEducation Level: PhD or equivalentSkills/Qualifications:Ability to work in a team and interact with experts in bioinformatics and experimental biology.Bioinformatics: analysis of transcriptomic and proteomic data; advanced use of R and ascript programming language; implementation of robust and repeatable bioinformatics pipelines.
