NOTICE FOR THE AWARD OF RESEARCH GRANTS
A tender is hereby opened for the award of 1 Research Grant (RG) under the project Aveiro Education and Social Alliance – Success Promotion and Scholar Abandon Reduction in Higher Education within the investment Impulso Adultos (RE-C06-i03) of the Recovery and Resilience Program, under the following conditions:
1. Scientific Area: Marketing, communication, multimedia or similar.
2. Funding Source: Next Generation EU, within the scope of the Aveiro Education and Social Alliance project, which fits into the Impulso Adultos investment (RE-C06-i03) of the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan.
3. Admission Requirements: Students enrolled in a Master in Marketing, Marketing and Digital Communication, Audiovisual Communication for New Media, Web Communication and Technology, Multimedia or similar. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in research project participation, possessing skills in multimedia content development, digital storytelling, copywriting, media management activities, and the creation/implementation of digital communication plans. Additional valued skills include a high degree of autonomy, strong motivation for teamwork, accuracy, creativity, and good presentation skills for delivering results.
The proof of enrolment must be made available until the contract is awarded, and the candidate may attach a declaration of honor to confirm that they meet the requirements for enrolment in a master's degree or in an advanced scientific research non-degree granting course with a minimum of 40 ECTS.
If the qualification has been conferred by a foreign higher education institution it must be recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution , under the terms of the provisions of article 25 of Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of August 16th.
4. Eligibility: Applicants are eligible if they comply with paragraph a) of no.1 of article 2, of the Research Fellow Statute in the wording given by Decree-Law no. 123/2019, of August 28th, and also the provisions of article 9 of the Scientific Research Grant Regulations of the University of Aveiro.
5. Work plan: The candidate will carry out their work within the context of promoting non-degree training at the University of Aveiro and other initiatives related to the dissemination of the educational offerings. The main activities to be developed under the grant include:
Production of multimedia content (video, image, audio, and other formats) according to identified communication needs;
Support in the implementation of the marketing and communication strategy;
Assistance in media management activities (social media or others) or in implementing components of the established strategy;
Conducting research and fieldwork to support the execution of the aforementioned activities;
Preparing reports and presentations focused on the results obtained.
6. Applicable legislation and regulations: Research Fellow Statute, as amended by Decree-Law No. 123/2019, of August 28th; Scientific Research Grant Regulation of the University of Aveiro, Regulation No. 292/2020, published in Diário da República No. 61, Series II, of March 26th; Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16th.
7. Workplace: The work will be carried out in ISCA-UA under the scientific supervision of Professor Irina Adriana Saur Amaral and Professor João Miguel Lopes.
8. Duration of the grant(s): The grant duration will be 6 months, starting foreseeably in January 2025, possibly renewable for more 6 months up to the maximum funding approved.
9. Amount of monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the grant corresponds to €990.98, according to the table of values of monthly maintenance allowances, set out in Appendix III of the Scientific Research Grant Regulation of the University of Aveiro , subject to any updates that may occur and are applicable.
10. Selection methods: The selection methods to be used will be the following: curriculum vitae assessment (50%) and interview (50%). The jury may decide not to select any applicant if they understand that none of the applicants have the required profile.

12. Deadline for applications and how to submit applications: The call is open from November 21st to December 10th 2024, and only applications submitted within the deadline will be admitted.
Applications must be formalized by sending the following documents:
Motivation letter indicating the competence and experience for the work to be done;
Certificate of qualifications and other related documents;
Proof of enrollment in the Master program or declaration of honor to confirm that they meet the requirements for enrolment in a Master degree or in an advanced scientific research non-degree granting course with a minimum of 40 ECTS;
Other supporting documents deemed relevant.
Applicants shall also indicate the e-mail address to which they accept to be notified for all purposes within this procedure.
13. Form of publication/notification of results: The results of the evaluation shall be made public no later than 60 working days after the closing date for submission of applications and shall be notified to the applicants.
14. Tender duration: The final ranking list of candidates will be valid until June 28th, 2025 for the purpose of constituting a reserve list for selection.
