We are looking for a highly-qualified, self-motivated Research Engineer to join our team in the development of new application driven MEMS sensors under several projects, to support microfabrication activities (including silicon-based and flexible substrates) including MEMS inertial sensors and thin-film sensors. Job Duties T he job duties will be the following : Design and model (analytic, FEM) MEMS devices ( in particular, electrical and mechanical doma ins) ; Design the ma sks for fabrication and fabrication follow-up ; Laboratory c haracteris ation of sensor devices ( e.G., electric, mechanical, thermal ); Documentation of the developments ( e.G., reports, runsheets ). Mandatory Qualifications Education MSc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics Engineering or other related field. Experience E xperience in MEMS d evice modelling (structural, electrical and fluidic domains) ; E xperience in mask/layout design using CAD and process design tools ; Experience in MEMS and thin-film microfabrication in cleanroom environment ( inc. SOI -based micromachining); Technical Skills Knowledge on MEMS modelling/simulation approaches (analytical a nd/or finite element modelling) using simulation software ( e.G., Matlab /Simulink, Mathematica, COMSOL, ANSYS ); Knowledge on mask/layout development using CAD and process design tools; Other Skills Experience in r eport writing; Experience in disseminating research results to the scientific community. P referred Qualifications Education PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics Engineering or other related field. Experience Previous experience on inertial and optical MEMS development; Previous experience on laboratorial characterization (electrical/mechanical/optical); Knowledge on transduction mechanisms (e.G., capacitive transduction); International mobilityexperience.
