at the Bonn location.
Efficient infrastructures are the lifelines of a modern society and economy. They secure Germany's future. As an independent regulatory authority, the Federal Network Agency is responsible for sustainable competition, future-proof networks and strong consumer protection.
We employ around 3,200 people in Bonn, Mainz and 44 other locations.
What does Unit 625 do? We carry out various tasks in the area of access regulation to hydrogen and gas transportation networks, gas supply security and EU gas matters. Among other things, we develop concepts for how access to gas and hydrogen networks should be regulated and contribute to the preparation of determinations by the responsible Ruling Chamber 7 in the area of access regulation. We are also involved in shaping access regulation for gas and hydrogen storage facilities. This also includes future storage capacities for gas and hydrogen while ensuring security of supply and the corresponding monitoring of storage levels. In the area of security of supply, we monitor and ensure Germany's supply of gas and, in future, hydrogen. On the other hand, we take precautions for possible crisis situations and maintain the necessary structure. Finally, we also represent all of the aforementioned topics at EU level in various committees.
What are your tasks? You will primarily work in the area of crisis preparedness and security of supply. This includes the ongoing maintenance and further development of existing crisis structures and the further development of crisis preparation processes:
You will be responsible for the maintenance and further development of a Shiny app written in the R programming language, which aggregates and processes crisis-relevant data from various sources so that we, as a federal load distributor, are able to act in the event of a crisis You are responsible for technical data work in the context of crisis preparedness and occasionally analyze and process large amounts of data for this purpose You keep the action alternatives up to date in the event of a crisis, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, design training courses and exercises and carry them out Other tasks from the unit's portfolio can also be assigned. This applies in particular to demanding and independent activities in the context of data work in the area of supply security:
You will prepare data and identify requirements - particularly in terms of data quality and data structure - and deal with their implementation You contribute to the visual preparation of data using R or Python and other suitable tools You support the definition and implementation of IT security measures from a user perspective and act as an interface to the IT department Due to the area of responsibility, an extended review (SÜ 2) is required in accordance with the Security Review Act.
Who are we looking for? You have completed or are about to complete a Master's degree with 300 ECTS credits or a Diplom (university) degree in (business) informatics, administrative informatics, data science management, (business) mathematics, statistics, industrial engineering, economics, economics, business administration or a comparable subject area You have several years of practical experience in agile software development with relevant programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Java, Rust, Go, JavaScript or R Ideally, you have experience in working with databases, processing and visualizing large amounts of data, connecting external interfaces, structured software testing, designing software architecture and UX/UI design You have a good grasp of things, the ability to think abstractly and a high level of motivation You have a confident and engaging manner You are a committed, reliable and flexible personality who works independently and results-oriented even under time pressure in difficult situations You have good planning, assertiveness and organizational skills as well as good analytical and negotiating skills You are open-minded and cooperative in a team, have experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and have strong and proven people skills You have good written and verbal communication skills and good English language skills You are willing to undertake business trips What do we offer?
