Purchase Principal Specialist Summary:
AAO provides our Airport customers with ground-breaking cloud based technology and hardware, pioneering operational efficiencies for the benefit of airport authorities, airlines and ultimately a better passenger experience.
Vendor Manager (Purchase Principal Specialist) will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across multiple categories, managing and improving the existing supplier performance across our product portfolio in addition seeking new suppliers. You will negotiate the best value outcomes for Amadeus and you will work closely with various stakeholders, such as sales, product management, design teams, manufacturing operations, manufacturing supply chain, finance, legal and vendors, to ensure that we have the right suppliers performing to meet customer demand and business objectives. You will guide decision-making and influencing in relation to best practice procurement principles, policies and practices. You will manage sourcing events including contractual requirements, issuing an RFx, managing responses, coordinating the evaluation and developing the recommendation.
Vendor Manager will have a broad understanding of the industry and use it to recommend best practices, drive improvements and influence the strategic direction of the department. You will support the implementation of the procurement strategy.
In this role you will:
Vendor Selection and Contract Management:
Lead procurement bidding processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiations for supplies, equipment, services, and projects.
Coordinate with all stakeholders on pre and post-award vendor selection functions.
Negotiate contracts and prices to secure business competitiveness, ensuring compliance with Amadeus policies (NDA, SRAs, etc.).
Manage vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing and cooperative relations from reputable suppliers.
Cost Savings and Efficiency:
Identify savings and cost avoidance opportunities such as volume and vendor consolidation.
Recommend best practices for procurement processes.
Negotiate price agreements to help the business save money and remain competitive.
Support and provide expert guidance to Product Management and SBDM relating to all sourcing strategies across multiple regions including but not limited to Lead times and supply chain constraints.
Support and Guidance:
Provide expert guidance to Product Management and SBDM on sourcing strategies.
Address lead times and supply chain constraints.
Handle changes and evolution of products (e.g., End of Life, quality concerns).
Manage logistical challenges and constraints.
Offer alternative solutions and support vendor selection.
Vendor Performance Management:
Ensure vendor compliance with contracts.
Conduct risk reviews and implement mitigations.
Maintain pricing agreements and manage vendor performance.
Expand reporting to key stakeholders, including pricing catalogues, lead times, supply chain issues, and vendor performance analysis
Procurement Strategy Implementation:
Participate in the implementation of the procurement strategy.
Understand and contribute to the procurement strategy roadmap.
Coordinate with the VisionBox procurement team to identify synergies and advance common procurement processes, policies, and tools.
Reporting and Analysis:
Maintain and expand reporting to stakeholders, including:
Regularly updated pricing catalogues.
Lead times for hardware components.
Supply chain issues and mitigations.
Vendor performance, segmentation, and spend analysis.
About the ideal candidate:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or Supply Management.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in procurement and logistics-related activities, preferably in the telecommunications and/or aviation industry.
Experience of Business Understanding and analytical thinker
Ability to understand high-level solutions and the impact of improvement projects, new/changed processes, and new/changed tools.
Ability to understand inter-dependencies between different business areas.
Ability to understand and analyze legal terms and conditions and extract essential information from contractual documents.
Experience discussing finances, budgets, and costs.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with COUPA is a plus.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
Excellent organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
