To support our division Product Engineering at our location in Portugal, we are looking for a Product Engineer (m/f/d) Your Shoes to fill: Oversee and ensure the engineering and PE sampling process at our Birkenstock-owned factory (S&CC), ensuring it meets the required timelines and quality standards. Supervise the engineering and PE sampling process in contract manufacturing factories for assembly in Germany, maintaining strict adherence to timelines and quality. Manage the engineering and PE sampling process for all components (e.G., soles, moulds) ordered from Portugal, ensuring that these processes are completed on time and to the expected quality. Liaise with the PE team in Germany under the coordination of the Construction and Technical Manager to ensure proper technical packages are prepared before the sampling process begins. Execute a smooth handover to the Commercialization, S&CC, and PE teams in Portugal before bulk production begins. Provide status updates during the weekly PE department meetings. Coordinate and, if necessary, develop specific procedures with the PE Process Analyst to ensure optimal cooperation with Commercialization, S&CC, and PE Portugal. Drive continuous improvements in production processes and share best practices with relevant stakeholders. Your walk of life: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. At least 8 years of experience in the shoemaking industry, with a strong background in engineering and sampling processes. Ability to read blueprints and understand pattern technical details; experience with 2D CAD systems (ProCAM, MindCAD) is an advantage. Fluent in English, with strong communication skills. Precise, systematic, and a strong team player. Proficient in MS Office. Willingness to travel as required. Proactive mindset with the ability to make informed technical decisions.
