The Continuous Improvement Engineer (CIE) – Synthetics is a critical role in our journey to drive a best-in-class operating system. This position will contribute to implement ongoing OPEX roadmaps. Position Summary The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for measuring existing processes with the overall goal of improving manufacturing velocity to improve profitability and cash utilization of the Company. To succeed, this role will utilize appropriate operational excellence (LEAN, Six Sigma, etc.) tools to accomplish these goals. This position would be based in Maia, at one of our manufacturing locations. Domestic travel will be required approximately 35% of the time. The CIE will lead by example all aspects of the WireCo Business System (WBS) including the Behaviors: Teamwork - welcomes an environment of inclusiveness and healthy debate that reflects our team's strength Accountable – celebrates our successes, learns from failures, avoids excuses, and owns the outcomes of our efforts Self-Aware – demonstrates an understanding of our strengths and needs, considering how our actions impact others Noble Intent – acts in the interests of others, approaching our work with integrity to ensure the best outcome Determined – takes initiative, shares ideas and finds solutions to win and achieve our goals Transparent – promotes open and honest communication and constructive feedback for clarity and truth Curious – seeks knowledge and outside input to test our way of thinking, challenging the status quo Duties & Responsibilities Find, develop and implement opportunities to drive velocity improvements within WireCo's manufacturing and distribution facilities Work with site leaders to create a culture of continuous improvement through an action-based approach Directly lead and manage approved operational improvement projects ensuring committed results are achieved and new practices are maintained: i) Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, 5S, Visual Management, waste reduction, etc.; ii) General concept education for labor force Collaborate with global colleagues in order to share best practices and support the overall strategy of the WireCo Business System (WBS) Implement and manage continuous improvement tools. Qualifications Knowledge and Experience University degree in Engineering; Experience in similar roles; Proficiency with continuous improvement tools and methodologies in production processes: Lean management, Six Sigma, TPM, SMED and 5S; English required (spoken and written); Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude
