Offer Description The candidate will develop new formulations based on functional biopolymers, optimize 3D printing by photo-polymerization, characterize the obtained devices in terms of structural, physicochemical and mechanical properties, and finally study cellular behavior within printed objects.
This project aims to propose a tissue engineering device for brain tissue reconstruction based on the development of a custom scaffold for endogenous cells by additive manufacturing. Several types of polymeric biomaterials will be formulated and shaped by 3D photo-polymerization in order to offer a high-resolution, biocompatible system that guarantees the required physical and biological performances.
This project will be carried out in the department of Macromolecular Materials Chemistry of the Charles Gerhardt Montpellier Institute (www.icgm.fr), a multidisciplinary institute specialized in materials chemistry and their applications, particularly in health and environment. The project is part of a national collaborative project with a team of neurobiologists from UMR Tonic in Toulouse.
Minimum Requirements:
The candidate must hold a doctorate in biomedical engineering or materials chemistry.
Skills in the development of 3D materials for biology and the characterization of their properties.
Experience in bioprinting or generally in 3D additive manufacturing and cell culture.
Proficient in written and spoken English.
