The Transformation & Portfolio Management office (TPMO) is organized to partner with leaders and teams to enable successful strategic execution by bringing a different pace and rhythm to the planning, governance, and execution process. The TPMO also identifies and captures value by enabling the organization to propel forward and instill a new culture of delivery.
Your main responsibilities after joining a small high-impact TPMO team will include designing and managing the reporting, insights, and analysis of the Enterprise Portfolio for one of McKinsey's largest internal business units. You will work closely with senior leaders across the entire portfolio which consists of strategic initiatives and operational imperatives, building a deep understanding and aligning them with the overall portfolio mission to support decision-making, trade-offs, and risk mitigation.
Your impact within our firmYou will build trusted relationships with stakeholders to gather essential information and insights, enhancing portfolio transparency. A key part of your role will be to convert complex data into clear, visual reports for effective decision-making. Additionally, you will manage the end-to-end OKR and QBR processes, ensuring accurate progress measurement towards the annual plan. In simple terms, your role will be at the heart of strategic change enablement.
You will develop and maintain an integrated portfolio roadmap, ensuring milestones and phases are clearly mapped to provide transparency and alignment for a wide range of stakeholders. You will manage the submission, creation, and baselining of strategic business objectives, maintaining consistency and quality across the portfolio. In this role, you will support the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process by reviewing, challenging, and driving accountability to ensure teams focus on execution. You'll also work to enhance process maturity through continuous improvements, delivering optimal services efficiently to TPMO customers.
Maintaining a 3-5 year strategic business plan roadmap is central to your responsibilities, including ensuring it is regularly reviewed and remains relevant. Effective communication with stakeholders will be key to aligning on portfolio objectives, progress, and priorities. You will conduct portfolio performance analysis and reporting, ensuring the accuracy of data collection, integrity, and customer reporting. This includes providing expertise in tools like Jira and Jira Align.
You will provide independent analysis on execution risks, dependencies, and assumptions, orchestrating end-to-end Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) and QBR processes to create a single source of truth for tracking progress against the annual integrative plan. Additionally, you will create impactful visuals to support storytelling, enabling leaders to focus on critical insights for decision-making.
