Location: Lisbon, Portugal.This role will be responsible for maintaining payroll systems and processing paychecks according to schedule and in the correct amount. Responsibilities include entering data into payroll databases, calculating total cost of employment, reviewing and approving payroll runs, summarizing and reporting on payroll data, preparing invoices monthly, and responding to questions about payroll calculations and service fees to clients and internal stakeholders.Key responsibilitiesProcess payroll for employees in the organization and employees of our clients. Review payroll calculations globally for accuracy and regulatory compliance.Maintain personnel database regarding salaries and other sensitive data.Understand and articulate payroll deductions and compensation and benefit structures in global markets. Determine the right payroll amount by calculating overtime, bonuses, etc.Answer questions about payroll calculations, mutations, and exchange rates to internal and client stakeholders. Address and resolve questions about payroll from employees and clients.Manage relationships with third-party payroll service providers to ensure accurate and timely master data transmission and calculations.Estimate financial impact of mutations on payroll. Compare estimated calculations to actual calculations when received and verify differences. Help prepare organization budget and expenses by predicting future expense related to known and anticipated mutations.Prepare reports to relevant stakeholders about payroll, company budget, and expenses.Compile key operational payroll metrics & dashboards. Structure a global process and implement a payroll timing calendar with cutoff dates for client, organization, and service provider alignment.Prepare payroll reconciliations, summarize payroll data, send invoices to clients, and reports for management.Preparing invoices.RequirementsBachelors degree in Accounting, or related field, required.Proven experience in a payroll position in a fast-paced environment required.Experience with multiple global locations and upwards of 500+ employee headcount in multiple countries.Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws in an international environment.Good understanding of the common fiscal procedures.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.Success-driven, with a positive can-do attitude and combining commitment with self-initiative.What it's like working at HorizonsOur service & product: We're a technology company, not an accountancy, payroll provider, recruitment firm or similar.
