Pastry Head Chef

The Sentido Galo Resort is located on Madeira Island and are part of DER Touristik Hotels & Resorts. The resort comprises 229 rooms in 3 neighbouring hotels. We are looking for a talented and creative Pastry Head Chef to join culinary team and manage pastry production for our F&B outlets. The ideal candidate will be passionate professional that will be playing an essential role in developing our F&B offer. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:·Create, prepare, and present a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes and baked goods·Create seasonal and regional innovative dessert menus in collaboration with the culinary team·Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation·Oversee daily operations in the pastry kitchen, ensuring all items are prepared in a timely manner.·Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section in accordance with health and safety regulations·Train and mentor the pastry team·Monitor stock and ingredients, place orders when necessary to avoid shortages
·Proven experience as a Patry Chef or in a similar role·Be willing to learn, develop and improve own skills, whilst having the ability to progress and engage others·Expertise in pastry techniques, decoration and presentation·Strong knowledge of baking ingredients, pastry tools, and techniques·Strong attention to detail, creativity and passion for food
