Offer Description ADDF (Association for the Development of the Physics Department), a private not-for-profit institution that belongs to the SICTN, calls for tenders for the selection of 1 (one) Post-Doctoral Fellow under the following conditions:
Scientific Area: Physics
Research scholarship for one candidate holding a Doctoral degree is open, in the framework of project with reference 2024.00249.CERN, entitled "Topological defects as a probe of new physics: from CMB birefringence to gravitational waves" financed entirely by the PRR, within the scope of the investment "RE-C06-i06 - Science More Capacity", measure "RE-C06-i06.m02 - Reinforcement of financing for International Partnerships in Science, Technology and Innovation of the PRR".
The fellow will perform research in the context of the R&D project "Topological defects as a probe of new physics: from CMB birefringence to gravitational waves". This project aims to make progress in understanding the dynamics and observational signatures of networks that include one type of defect, the so-called domain wall (DW), in particular, in connection with cosmic birefringence and gravitational waves.

Specific Requirements Admission requirements:
PhD degree in Physics or similar area, awarded up to three years before the application date.
The fellow does not exceed, with the conclusion of the grant contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of three years in that type of grant, consecutive or interpolated.
The postdoctoral research is carried out in a host entity different from the entity where the research work leading to the doctoral degree was carried out.
Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in both Particle Physics and Cosmology.
Additional Information Duration of the fellowship: The fellowship is expected to start on 1 February 2025. The contract will have a duration of 9 months, in an exclusivity regime, potentially renewable according to the applicable laws and depending on the project's execution and respective budget.
Monthly subsistence allowance: The value of the monthly subsistence allowance is € 1.801,00, paid monthly by bank transfer, according to the Research Fellowship Regulations of FCT, I.P.
Candidate selection methodology and criteria: Candidates will be selected according to a curricular evaluation (100%).
