At OceanScore, we're dedicated to enabling shipping's transformation towards sustainability. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic member to our team in Madeira, to support the day-to-day operations of our office there and secure proper accounting and financial transparency.
What You Will Be Doing: Accounting: Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and tax laws. Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.Reporting: Prepare financial statements and reports for management review. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.Budgeting: Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.Office Management: Secure a good working environment for our growing team in Funchal. Run day-to-day administration of the office.What You Bring: Formal qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, possibly CPA or equivalent.Experience: Work experience as an accountant, preferably in a startup environment. Solid understanding of Portuguese accounting standards and practices. Ideally experience with international accounting standards.Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.Language Skills: Fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English (both written and spoken).Adaptability: Ability to work independently and with attention to detail, getting things done in a fast-paced environment.Why Join Us?
