INESC-ID promotes cooperation between academia and industry by addressing research on daily life issues, such as healthcare, space, mobility, human language technologies, agri-food, industry 4.0, and smart grids. This high level of knowledge transfer is achieved through both competitive research projects and direct contracted research.

NINE (9) research grants for students with Bachelor degree under the scope of the project BLOCKCHAIN – refª C632734434-00467077, funded by Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) and Next Generation EU European Funds, are now available under the following conditions:
OBJECTIVES | FUNCTIONS
BI|2025/608 | Blockchain Integration Developer
Develop integration solutions using blockchain and message queue technologies to enhance business messaging reliability. Design and implement blockchain-based patterns for secure, verifiable, and non-repudiable message exchanges within the supply chain. Integrate open-source tools like RabbitMQ or Kafka for asynchronous, fault-tolerant communication. Develop a management interface and analyze data to improve effectiveness.
BI|2025/610 | Application Security Developer
Conduct an adversarial cybersecurity evaluation of a mobile food traceability application. Develop a cybersecurity testbed, including assessment tools. Simulate attacks on the app to assess vulnerabilities in its front-end, back-end, and blockchain integration. Analyze the results and use them to enhance the app's security.
BI|2025/611 | Image Processing Developer
Use intelligent camera sensors to monitor human and transport activities on locations such as loading zones, to improve operational safety of the supply chain.
BI|2025/613 | Blockchain Recovery Developer
Design and implement recovery mechanisms for blockchain transactions, ensuring continuity and immutability.
BI|2025/614 | Blockchain Wallet Developer
Develop a mobile wallet app for secure access, sharing, and consent management of electronic records using blockchain.
BI|2025/615 | Blockchain Security Developer
Develop a mechanism to detect and recover mobile applications from intrusions, focusing on food traceability application.
BI|2025/616 | Blockchain Interoperability Engineer
Research, develop, and implement solutions using the Interblockchain Communication protocol.
DURATION
SIX (6) months, starting in January 2025 , renewable subject to suitable performance.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
Any national, foreign and stateless candidate(s) holding a Master degree in Computer Science and Engineering, or other related areas, with a suitable scientific and professional curriculum may apply.
The applicants are required to have proficiency in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken, as well as being enthusiastic, proactive, collaborative and able to work individually and as a team.
