Offer Description
A full-time research associate position is available to work on the VeSyAm research project (ANR grant). The position will start in Jan 2025 to Oct 2025, and is under the supervision of Dr. Mahsa Shirmohammadi.

The postdoc will have responsibility for carrying out research on algorithms related to algebraic models of computation such as quantum automata and quantum grammar. This work draws on connections with a number of areas of computer science and mathematics, including automata, number theory, algebraic geometry, linear algebraic groups, and Lie groupoids.

Responsibilities:

Investigating the relationship between linear algebraic groups and quantum computation.

Establishing complexity bounds for threshold problems within quantitative models, including quantum and weighted automata.

Exploring the connection between Lie groupoids and the weight distribution of quantum gates.

Minimum Requirements:

Solid pure mathematical background.

PhD in Mathematics or Computer Science.

Written and oral communication skills in English.

Experience in LaTeX.
