About the role
We are excited to announce that we are recruiting a Lead Procurement and Sourcing for our EMEA region. We are looking for a candidate based in Europe with experience in Procurement and Sourcing (Transportation). The primary location for the position is Lisbon. In this very diverse and interesting role, you will be responsible for the procurement strategy, ensuring that all purchases follow the policies and standard procurement process, including proper use of supporting systems, and lead the execution of end-to-end sourcing activities including the development and implementation of the sourcing strategy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing specifically for logistics and transportation services to support our supply chain operations with a focus in Europe and supporting Africa & Middle East.
What you will be doing
Conduct end-to-end sourcing processes, ensuring that the outcomes meet or exceed business requirements and are fully aligned with Group standards.
Develop negotiation strategies to ensure that Orica's position is commercially and legally robust and will yield the best result.
Anticipate changes in the sourcing landscape and update negotiation strategies accordingly.
Manage the operations and orders of all transactions, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Work with suppliers to identify and resolve potential procurement-related issues/discrepancies when necessary, maintaining close working relationships with suppliers and clients.
Collaborate with the Senior Procurement Manager to ensure that Planning Strategy and Category Strategies are aligned with internal expectations and meet agreed contractual requirements.
Ensure efficient processes to maintain an accurate expenses and contracts database (SAP).
Keep internal customers informed of potential issues with purchases made or with suppliers.
Prepare, distribute, collect, and analyze RFX (Request for X) processes.
Be responsible for all audit matters and the review of existing audit processes.
What you will bring
Professional experience in a similar role.
Experience with SAP.
Fluency in English, both oral and written (Mandatory).
Background in engineering or supply chain will be an added advantage.
Must be conversant with sourcing/tendering of logistics services including transport and warehousing.
Previous work experience in the manufacturing industry will be a strong attribute for the role.
Qualification:
Diploma/ Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business Administration.
