Arcesium launched with the mission to power the entire investment lifecycle. Building on a platform developed and tested by the D. E. Shaw group, we received additional equity backing from a second seed client, Blackstone Alternative Asset Management. J.P. Morgan, an early adopter of our technologies, later made a strategic investment in the company. Today, Arcesium services over $677 billion in global client AUM with a staff of over 1,950 software
engineering, accounting, operations, and treasury professionals. Arcesium is headquartered in New York, with offices across India and London.
Arcesium delivers an advanced data, operations, and analytics platform used by some of the world's most sophisticated asset managers and financial services organizations. We designed our elegant SaaS platform with industry-specific capabilities to harmonize massive amounts of disparate data and deliver unparalleled speed, accuracy, and decision-making capabilities. Our exceptionally consultative and collaborative approach coupled with deep domain expertise helps our clients achieve transformational business outcomes.
We are looking for a bright and exceptional Infrastructure Principal Engineer to join our technology team.
The role involves building complex next-generation products used by our teams and architecting solutions to support new technical and business initiatives.
The Infrastructure team is responsible for multiple functional areas which include Access & Identity Management, Linux Compute, Discovery, Networking, Observability, SDLC, & Storage, built on top of AWS, which provides the foundation upon which our customer-facing financial technology platform builds and runs. Infrastructure is a high-impact engineering team that builds new services, automates systems, integrates cloud & open-source software, and operates critical systems depending on the firm's needs.
What you'll do:

Engineer our Linux compute platform based on Kubernetes and AWS.
Engineer our Python and Terraform-based tools and automation.
Build infrastructure applications, write, and review code as needed.
Solve problems with a combination of coding and implementation of open source tools.
Troubleshoot and debug complex systems.
Leverage our design, coding, automation, and implementation skills to engineer what Arcesium needs, solving business and technology problems.
Demonstrate strong technical breadth/depth, driving innovation, evaluating new technologies, and deciphering the technical vision for engineering teams.
Own key contributions to technical design and architecture decisions, considering trade-offs of choices, managing risk, making decisions independently where appropriate, and presenting reasoned options for decision-making by others.
Lead the way by writing exemplary code, documentation, and RFCs.
Identify, propose, develop, deploy, and own R&D projects in accordance with the technical vision and needs of the team, turning problem statements into solutions, and operating independently as needed.
Design systems and solutions that take into account and/or improve key metrics (e.g. quality, cost, availability, scalability, reliability).
Mentor and coach engineers in their subdepartment and influence the broader Technology organization.
Main requirements We prefer 5+ years of relevant infrastructure experience.   However, we are interested more in what you've done, can do, and can grow to do, rather than the number of years you've been working.
Proven track record of ownership of critical systems and delivery of systems and features.  You have owned and operated critical infrastructure systems like Linux, Kubernetes , DNS, Kerberos, and/or AWS IAM.
Polyglot programming capability, with advanced level Python ability.  Other languages in our ecosystem include Java, Go, and Bash.
Experience with running critical workloads on AWS
Ability to balance delivery with correctness, delivering timely solutions that are properly risk-managed for the needs of the business
You have an inquisitive mind, the ability to learn and problem-solve, and are a self-starter
A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
Have a valid work permit to work in the country (although open to work remotly in Europe).
