Overview The Pastrana RG is dedicated to the development of personalised foods and sustainable packaging. We are looking for a Junior Research Fellow to join our team in the evaluation of food ingredients in in vitro digestion, and assess the bioavailability of bioactive compounds.
We are looking for a qualified Junior Research Fellow to join the team in the Development of healthier and sustainable food products project from the VIIAFOOD Agenda, under the PRR framework.
Job Duties The job duties will be the following:
Perform the required experimental work;
Write technical reports;
Attend meetings with partners of the project;
Work in a cross-functional team and with other groups.
Mandatory Qualifications Education:
MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Food Biotechnology, or a related area.
Experience and Technical Skills:
Development and characterisation of biopolymer-based soft structures, such as nano/microcapsules;
Experience in probiotic bacteria and microbiology techniques, for their cultivation and quantification;
Experience in encapsulation using spray technologies, such as electrospray and spray drier;
Experience in microscopy techniques for characterisation of micro and nanocapsules.
Other Value Skills:
Good scientific record;
International experience.
