To join our team, we are looking for a highly organized and proactive HR Generalist. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, ensuring smooth HR operations, and contributing to a positive work environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad skill set across all areas of Human Resources.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, including regular and off-cycle payrolls.
Validate and input payroll data, including earnings, deductions, and taxes, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
Review and reconcile payroll data to maintain accurate records and ensure consistency.
Maintain and update payroll records, including employee earnings, benefits, and deductions.
Assist with the preparation and filing of payroll-related tax forms and reports, ensuring compliance with Portuguese tax and employment laws.
Support audits by providing accurate and timely payroll data and documentation.
Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing timely and accurate information.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment between payroll and other employee records.
Prepare reports related to payroll costs, headcount, and other payroll-related metrics for internal stakeholders.
Process and manage employee benefit contributions, deductions, and adjustments within payroll.
Coordinate with benefit providers to ensure accurate and timely benefits processing and reporting.
Identify opportunities for improvement in payroll processes, working to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure all payroll activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including data protection and employment law.
Support HR and Finance projects as needed, contributing payroll expertise and insights.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related fields.
Strong administrative experience with excellent organizational skills.
Previous payroll experience or a keen interest in developing a career in payroll management.
Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
A proactive, solution-focused attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to cope well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Fluency in English and Portuguese, with a solid understanding of Portuguese employment and tax laws.
