Our company is seeking a Junior Payroll Specialist to join our finance and payroll team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments to employees. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent communication skills to interact with employees and management.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all payroll functions for the companies within the holding.
Process payroll on a timely and accurate basis, including tracking hours worked, calculating pay, and deducting taxes and other withholdings.
Ensure compliance with state and federal payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
Work closely with the HR team to ensure accuracy of employee data and changes to employee information.
Prepare and submit all required payroll reports to management and external agencies.
Conduct regular audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Provide support to the finance and accounting team as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a corporate setting in Portugal.
Experience with payroll software (Primavera).
Strong understanding of state and federal payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
