About the Job:

If you are detail-oriented and interested in the intricacies of Payroll management, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Junior Payroll Specialist at Cluster Outsourcing Ltd. Join our Payroll and Finance team and play a key role in assisting in the processing of payroll, maintaining records, and collaborating with the HR team to address any payroll-related inquiries. You will have the opportunity to work with a renowned company and make a significant impact while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of Lisbon.

About your role:

Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing guidance and support on Payroll-related matters, and answering queries promptly.

Accurately calculate and verify employee salaries, wages, and benefits.

Work with the Payroll Manager to ensure monthly payroll is processed accurately and timely, with applicable laws and regulations.

Working to resolve discrepancies in payments as a matter of urgency.

Maintain meticulous payroll records to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Act as a backup for processing payroll and manual checks.

Verify completion of all timecard and PTO processing by Managers and Supervisors.

Assist in preparing payroll reports and documents for auditing and reporting purposes.

Processing of all invoices ensuring appropriate authorization and payment in accordance with agreed procedures.

Control and prepare payments of all employee's expenses for reimbursement.

Contribute to a positive employee experience by ensuring timely and accurate payroll.

Perform any other payroll or finance duties as required by business needs.

Support the financial well-being and satisfaction of our staff through efficient payroll management.

What do we expect from you?

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. Master's degree or relevant Finance certifications are a plus. Alternatively, >3 years of job relevant experience.

Strong understanding of Payroll principles, practices, and local employment laws and regulations.

Excellent attention to detail to avoid errors and discrepancies, effective time management and analytically driven.

Strong data management skills to maintain accurate payroll records and handle a large volume of employee information.

Problem-solving skills to be able to identify problems, investigate root causes, and implement solutions.

Confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information and adhering to ethical standards.

Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and Human Resources software.

Adaptability in quickly adjusting to new requirements and implementing changes effectively.

Proactive and forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to anticipate needs, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.

Must hold EU citizenship or a valid work permit for Portugal.

Fluent in English (other language is a plus).
