What You Will Do Role Overview: The High Voltage Engineering Lead will provide support to the HV Operations Team in the areas of ongoing maintenance activities and projects, integration of new facilities, betterment project development, and interdepartmental communication. The HV Engineer will also serve, in conjunction with other High Voltage Operations staff and the Electrical Engineers in Houston, as the Company's subject matter expert on essentially all HV issues. Main responsibilities: Provide electrical, high-voltage, collection system, and substation support to operating renewable generation facilities which includes intermittent on-call support. Participate in the engineering, design, and construction review processes including review of collection system, substation, and transmission line designs. Support new project commissioning, documentation support, and assist with project energization. Review and continuously improve commissioning, maintenance, and standard operating procedures. Review maintenance records and recommend corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance with the applicable NERC standards. Develop, review, and maintain work instructions for reactive and preventive maintenance activities. Develop and maintain electrical troubleshooting guides for intelligent electronic device (IED) training. Conduct event analysis of protection system operations to determine misoperation status in support of meeting FERC or NERC requirements. This includes the development, testing, and implementation of corrective operational plans for protection system misoperations. Develop and submit NERC MIDAS reports. Develop structured feedback sessions for all lessons learned with project team to include misoperations, root cause analysis, and safety-related events. Review and maintain IED settings repository. Review and update project documentation. Responsible for maintaining compliance of NERC standards PRC-027 and validating and/or updating arc flash studies. Develop and implement site betterment projects including preparation of scope documents, exhibits, budgets, schedules, and requests for proposals
