We're counting on your energy Head of Risk Management & Control Mission Pivotal role within commodity trading activities, with a broader view across all commodities (Oil, Natural Gas and Power), the Head of Risk Management & Control will be responsible for managing the Commodity Risk, Counterparty & Credit Risk and Reporting & Trade Control teams. Acting as a first line of defense, this leadership position is instrumental in safeguarding our trading operations while promoting growth and profitability. What you'll do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Commodity Risk, Counterparty and Credit Risk, and Reporting & Trade Control teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Develop and enhance risk management procedures and methodologies in alignment with company standards, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Regularly monitor and assess the market, credit, and counterparty risks associated with commodity trading positions. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize risk-return profiles.
- Produce clear reporting to senior management and the board to inform clear decision making in relation to risk within trading activities.
- Oversee the trade control process to ensure accurate trade capture, trade matching, and settlement processes. Collaborate with front-office and operations teams to resolve trade discrepancies.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring their competence in risk management and control.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to strengthen the overall risk management and control framework.
- Work cross-functionally with teams in other jurisdictions and timezones to create a cohesive global risk management framework, sharing best practices and ensuring consistency in risk assessment and mitigation efforts across the business. What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Relevant experience within a commodity trading company, preferably in Product Control, Market Risk or Business Review roles
