We are hiring a Head Chef to manage the kitchen of our Restaurant Ondamar and the a la cart of our hotel bar. The Sentido Galo Resort is located on the island of Madeira, comprises two hotels with a total of 202 rooms. The Resort is part of the DERTOUR group one of the biggest European tour operators. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Working closely with the F&B Director in defining strategies for the F&B department · Create innovative menus and dishes both for buffets as well as a la carte · Obtaining feedback on food and service quality, and handling customer needs and expectations · Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation · Lead the team from the front - train and mentor the team · Managing cost controls and controlling expenditures within the respective budget · Monitoring inventory and purchasing supplies · Participates in the budgeting process for area of responsibility · Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area · Knows and implements brand standards REQUIREMENTS: · Passion for food to create a culinary experience for our guests · An interest in creating and setting up something new not only to maintain the status quo. · A minimum of 3-5 years prior experience in hospitality culinary management · Advanced international culinary skills · Excellent leadership, communication and time management skills · Ability to teach and inspire team members to be their best every day · Creativity to design new menu items and their presentation · Proactive forward thinker · Excellent knowledge of BOH systems, ordering and inventory Role: Head Chef Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Location: None, Apply for this job now.
