.GreenCoLab is hiring: Researcher in Genomics and Applied Microbiology (PhD) | EN Vacancy Purpose ASSOCIAÇÃO OCEANO VERDE – LABORATÓRIO COLABORATIVO PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO DE TECNOLOGIAS E PRODUTOS VERDES DO OCEANO (hereinafter referred to as GreenCoLab) opens recruitment and selection tender for 1 Researcher (M/F) for a vacancy to satisfy temporary needs under an uncertain term employment contract under the scope of application ALG-05-3559-FSE-000022, called Hiring Highly Qualified Human Resources, financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Social Security Budget (OSS), through the Algarve Regional Operational Program, to support the work carried in the context of the GreenCoLab R&I agenda. Researcher in Genomics and Applied Microbiology (PhD) Ensure the development of next generation molecular biology activities foreseen in the R&I agenda of GreenCoLab. The researcher will be responsible for the algae-microbiome research and establishment of synthetic microbial communities able to improve the growth and modulate biochemical composition of algal cultures. Additionally, the researcher will be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of next generation sequencing genomics, transcriptomic, metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data generated by GreenCoLab working groups. Tasks: Development and implementation of methods for the extraction and isolation of DNA and RNA from microalgae (including cyanobacteria), macroalgae, and environmental contaminants samples; Next generation sequencing of samples for genomic and transcriptomic analysis; Analysis and interpretation of genomic, transcriptomic, metagenomic and metatranscriptomic (meta)data; Construction of tailored microbial communities for improved algae cultivation; Preparation of scientific manuscripts and technical reports of generated data; Preparation of applications to competitive calls (e.G., Horizon Europe). Profile required: PhD in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biological Sciences or related areas; Proven experience in applied microbiology, including algae-microbiome or plant-microbiome interaction analysis and modulation; Proven experience in classical molecular analysis (e.G. DNA and RNA extraction, cloning etc); Proven experience in microbiome sequencing and analysis; Experience inthe analysis of genomics and transcriptomics data; Have proven fluency in the English language (written and spoken); Failureto meet these requirements determines the rejection of the application.
