.SummaryWe are looking for a General Manager – Speciality Restaurant to join our pre-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.Expected to open in Q2 2025, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital. It will represent a key milestone in Hyatt's continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon, located in the center of Lisbon's bustling Baixa district along the main pedestrian road, Rua Augusta. The hotel will comprise five separate buildings, including the former offices of Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). This unique Urban Resort will allow guests to fully embrace the locale and experience authentic Lisbon.About the roleThe General Manager – Speciality Restaurant is responsible for the opening of Lisbon's newest and trendiest spots. You will manage the assigned outlet as a successful independent profit centre, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction while operating within budget to help ensure the financial success of the speciality restaurant. You are an entrepreneurial creative thinker and operator, who loves food and understands that wine is water from the gods, while mixology is chemistry and emotion.QualificationsOperated and managed independent restaurants in top cities around the world.Relevant experience as a manager with oversight of complex restaurant operations or multiple venues.Proficiency in managing day-to-day operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and supplier relationships.Develop and manage the F&B department's budget, including food and beverage costs, labor, and operational expenses.Experience in managing restaurant finances, including cost control, profit margins, and payroll.Ability to analyze financial data to make informed business decisions.Knowledge of menu engineering to optimize offerings based on profitability and customer demand.Work with the marketing team to promote F&B services through special offers, themed nights, or holiday events.Strong focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences through training.Experience in managing relationships with vendors and suppliers.Strong organizational skills to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.Strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations.Experience with health, safety, and sanitation regulations to maintain a compliant environment.Pre-opening experience is an advantage.Fluency in Portuguese and English; other languages are a plus.If this sounds interesting, and a little bit like you, go ahead - click and apply!
