Preamble
By order of the Director of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (FLUP), Full Professor Paula Maria de Carvalho Pinto Costa, of 24 October 2024, it is hereby made public that this international selection procedure is open, for a period of 15 (fifteen) working days from the working day immediately following the publication in the Official Gazette (Diário da República) no. 12990/2024, of October 31, 2024, aiming to hire an Auxiliary Researcher, in the field of Humanities, in the scientific area of Arts, sub-area Museology, on an individual employment contract for an indefinite period, under the Labor Code.

5. Workplace
The workplace is located in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto or in any other place necessary to exercise the functions for which the Assistant Researcher is hired and/or indispensable for his/her professional training.
6. Remuneration
The gross monthly salary will be €3,427.59, corresponding to the 1st position, level 9 of the table attached to Regulation no. 487/2020; or the 1st position, index 195 of the table attached to the Statute of the Scientific Research Career - Decree-Law no. 124/99, of April 20, in the wording in force, on an exclusive basis, plus vacation and Christmas allowances, as well as food allowance, in the amount and with the conditions provided for workers in public employment.
8. Functional Content
8.1. According to Article 8(no. 1) of the Regulation, the duties of research staff are as follows:
Research;
Transfer and valorization of knowledge;
Management and communication of science and technology and other tasks;
Teaching and training activities, in accordance with Article 12 of Regulation 487/2020.
9. Admission requirements
9.1. General requirements for admission
National, foreign and stateless candidates who hold a doctoral degree in the scientific field of Museology or another doctorate with a specialization/branch in Museology , and who have a scientific and professional curriculum in the scientific field of this call, and who reveal a profile appropriate to the activities to be carried out, in accordance with paragraph 8 of this Notice, may apply.
9.2. Special admission requirements
Experience in projects and activities in the field of Museology;
Participation in scientific teams, performing interdisciplinary research in museums;
Collaboration with public and private entities;
Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese - Candidates of foreign nationality, except those from Portuguese-speaking countries, must have a proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese corresponding to the common reference level C1 or higher.
Proficiency in spoken and written English - Candidates of Portuguese or foreign nationality, except those from English-speaking countries, must have a proficiency in spoken and written English corresponding to the common reference level B2 or higher.
10. Preferred Requirements
Research experience within the framework of hiring doctoral researchers;
Experience in coordinating and participating in research projects;
Publications in the scientific field of Museology;
Development of studies on Digital Technologies and New Media in the museological and/or heritage context.
18. Formalizing Applications
18.1 Applications must be submitted no later than 23:59 on 22 November, 2024 (local time - Lisbon).
18.2 Applications must be made using the online application submission system available on the FLUP website.
18.3 The application must be accompanied by documents proving the conditions set out in paragraphs 9, 10 and 12 of this notice.
19. Notification of Results and Hearing of Interested Parties
19.1 Notifications are made by email, under the terms of articles 112(no.1)(point c) and 113(no. 5) of the Code of Administrative Procedure.
20. Occupation of the vacancy(s) to the competition
This call is exclusively intended to fill the position(s) indicated in this Notice, and may be terminated until the final ranking list of applicants has been approved and will expire when the job on offer has been filled.
