Call open for applications for a research grant within the framework of project 2022.06672.PTDC – iMAD - Improving the Modelling of Anomalous Diffusion and Viscoelasticity: solutions to industrial problems, funded by national funds (PIDDAC) through FCT/MCTES, under the following conditions:
Scientific Area: Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related areas
Admission Requirements:
Requirement 1: Candidates must meet the following:
- Be a student enrolled in a doctoral program in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Physics, or hold an academic degree enrolled in a non-academic degree course integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution.
Note: For masters enrolled in non-academic degree courses, the scholarship can only be awarded for a maximum of two years.
Requirement 2: Hold a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field.
Activity Outline:
Study of generalized models of viscoelasticity.
Study of different fractional operators.
Literature review of computational fluid dynamics for viscoelastic fluids.
Development of new elasticity models and numerical methods for complex flows.
Legislation and Regulations: Law Nº. 40/2004, and Regulation of Research Grants of Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
Work Place: Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), under the scientific supervision of Professor Luís Jorge Lima Ferrás.
Grant Duration: Initial duration of 6 months, with a predicted starting date in December 2024, exclusive basis eventually renewable.
Selection Procedure: The curriculum of the candidates will be evaluated based on academic training, publications, and research experience. Candidates must score at least 13 points in the curricular evaluation to be invited for an interview.
