Call open for applications for a research grant within the framework of Project "AET – Alliance for Energy Transition", nr. C644914747-00000023, investment project nr. 56, of the Incentive System "Agendas for Business Innovation", financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and by European Funds NextGeneration EU, under the following conditions:

Admission requirements:
Be a student enrolled in a doctoral program in the area of Chemical and Biological Engineering or in related areas, or
Holder of an academic degree enrolled in a non-academic degree course integrated with the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.
Note: In the case of masters who are enrolled in non-academic degree courses, the scholarship can only be awarded to those who do not exceed, with this scholarship contract, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of two years in that typology of the scholarship, followed or interpolated.

Hold a master's degree in Chemical Engineering or in related areas.
If the degree has been awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of the Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of August 16th, and any formalities established there must be fulfilled until the time of signing the contract.
Activity Outline:
Development and characterization of new materials for 3rd generation solar cells, namely dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and perovskite solar cells (PSCs);
Computational modeling and upscaling of technology for 3rd generation solar cells.
Preparation and characterization of modules of 3rd generation solar cells.
Works inserted in WP6 – PV systems and storage.
Legislation and regulations: Law Nº. 40/2004, of 18th August, in its current wording (Statutes of Scientific Research Fellow) and Regulation of Research Grants of Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, in force.
Workplace: The work will be developed at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), under the scientific supervision of Professor Adélio Miguel Magalhães Mendes.
Grant duration: Initial duration of 6 months, with the predicted starting date in January 2025, on an exclusive basis eventually renewable but never exceeding the project duration.
Selection Criteria:
The curriculum of the candidates (60 %) will be evaluated based on the merit of the candidate and the following factors:
Academic training: Master in Chemical Engineering - 4 points; Others Masters – 1 point.
Master's final rating: Equal to or higher than 13 values – 3 points; between 10 and 12 values – 1 point.
Publications in the project area - 5 points; Publications in other areas – 2 points; without publication – 0 points.
Research experience in preparation and characterization of 3rd generation solar cells – 5 points; experience in preparation and characterization of other photovoltaic devices - 2 points; without experience – 0 points.
Motivation letter to assess English proficiency: 1 to 3 points.
The curriculum of each candidate will be evaluated on a 1-20 points scale and for the interview (40%), the three best-ranked applicants in the evaluation of their curricular path will be admitted.
