Offer DescriptionNOTICE OF OPENING OF AN INTERNATIONAL SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF A DOCTORATE EQUIVALENT TO AN ASSISTANT RESEARCHER
By order of 03-10-2024, the Dean of FEUP, Professor Rui Artur Bártolo Calçada, deliberated to open an international selection procedure for the recruitment of one doctorate equivalent to an Assistant Researcher, within the scope of Associate Laboratory in Chemical Engineering ALiCE - LA/P/0045/2020, funded by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC), for research activities in the scientific area of Environmental Engineering, in the form of a Uncertain Term Employment Contract.
This recruitment aims the performance of activities corresponding to the category of Doctorate equivalent to an Assistant Researcher. The Doctorate will develop R&D activities in the scope of ALiCE, contributing to the subarea "Advanced Treatments of Gaseous and Liquid Effluents", with the task of developing advanced oxidation processes for the treatment of gaseous effluents and wastewater disinfection.
The selected researcher may also perform teaching and training activities in the research area.
The scientific area of this selection procedure is Environmental Engineering.Applicable Legislation: Regulation Nr. 487/2020, of 22 May – Regulation for Research, Science and Technology Personnel of the University of Porto and other applicable legislation.The applicants may be national, foreign and stateless candidates holding a doctor degree in the scientific area of Environmental Engineering, or other related area, and holding a scientific curriculum and training revealing a profile suitable for the activity to develop.
In order to determine the profile appropriate to the activity to be developed, candidates must have: a relevant curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying and demonstrate skills in (i) removal of organic pollutants from wastewater by homogeneous and/or heterogeneous advanced oxidation processes (AOPs); (ii) application of AOPs to oxidize volatile organic compounds present in gaseous effluents; (iii) disinfection of wastewater by AOPs; and (iv) integration of AOPs with more conventional processes.
Selection methods include (Curricular) evaluation of the scientific and curricular path of the candidates (90%) and a Professional Interview (10%).
