Offer Description Call open for applications for a research grant (Master's Degree), enrolled in Biology, within the framework of project BioShoes4All with the reference PRR-TC-C12-i01, financed by the Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência, under the following conditions:

Admission Requirements To have a Master's degree in Biology;
To be enrolled in PhD in Biology or courses that do not confer academic degree.
Although the recipients must be enrolled in a cycle of studies leading to the attribution of an academic degree or in a course not conferring an academic degree, at the time of application it is not necessary for the candidate to have made such an enrollment, and proof of enrollment must be presented until the fellowship is contractualized.
Preferences Requirements Preference will be given to candidates with experience and expertise in ecotoxicology with aquatic and terrestrial organisms, following standard protocols and methodologies of chemical characterization of compounds.
Hiring Requirements If the qualification has been granted by a foreign higher education institution, it must be recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution, pursuant to article 25 of Decree-Law No. 66/2018.
Activity Outline As part of the BioShoes4All project, the fellow will be responsible for:
Developing and implementing preliminaries and simple methodologies to evaluate the safety of compounds/materials used in shoe manufacture;
Validating kit assays to evaluate the environmental safety of compounds;
Conducting ecotoxicological assays with different test organisms;
Evaluating soil enzymatic activity and other biochemical parameters;
Maintaining laboratory cultures;
Chemical analysis of assay media for exposure characterization;
Participating in dissemination activities of the project.
Grant Duration Initial duration of 6 months, starting on 1st January 2025 , renewable up to the end date of the project (31/12/2025).
Maintenance Allowance Amount The grant stipend amounts to 1259,64€ .
Selection Procedure The selection methods to be used are as follows:
A – Final classification of Master's course (40%)
B - Quality of the CV (40%)
C – Adjustment of the CV to the required profile and previous experience in ecotoxicity assays (20%)
The curricular assessment (CA) will be obtained through the following formula:
CA=A*40% +B*40%+C*20%.
An interview (I) will be held for the 3 best classified candidates, weighted at 10% in the final classification (FC).
Deadline for Applications The deadline for submitting applications will be 10 days from the date of publication of the Research Grant Announcement. Applications must be formalized through the web page of Infociências.
