NOTICE OF OPENING OF AN INTERNATIONAL SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF AN ASSISTANT RESEARCHER TO THE CENTER FOR ARCHITECTURAL STUDIES AND URBANISM OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO, FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO (FAUP) – (PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT)
Preamble
By order of the Director of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), Professor João Pedro Sampaio Xavier, it is announced that an international selection procedure is open for the recruitment of an Assistant Researcher in the scientific field of Arts, specific domain of Preservation, Architectural Performance, and Urban Management of Modern Architectural Heritage, under a permanent employment contract.
The competition and the respective hiring process are governed by the provisions contained in Regulation No. 487/2020 - Research, Science and Technology Staff Regulations of the University of Porto.
Scientific area: Arts
Funding: FCT-Tenure Program – 1st Edition
Workplace: The workplace is located at the Center for Studies in Architecture and Urbanism of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto.
Remuneration: The gross monthly salary is 3427,59€, corresponding to the 1st position, level 9 of the table attached to Regulation No. 487/2020.
Hiring Regime:
The Assistant Researcher will be employed under a permanent employment contract, with a five-year probationary period.
Functional Duties: The duties of research staff include:
Research;
Knowledge transfer and valorization;
Science and technology management and communication;
Teaching and training activities, when applicable.
Develop innovative research connecting architectural theory to practice.
Assist in the heritage listing process.
Establish research collaborations with entities dedicated to modern heritage.
Lead training and workshops engaging various stakeholders.
II – Selection Process
Admission Requirements:
General Admission Requirements: The competition is open to candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Architecture and possess a scientific and professional curriculum in the specific field of Modern Cultural Heritage.
Specific Admission Requirements:
Education and Ph.D. in Architecture.
Participation in funded research projects.
Track record of peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Experience in organizing international scientific conferences.
Experience in teaching, supervising, and tutoring research fellows.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in research projects focused on architects' archives.
Experience in teaching in the areas of Theory and History of Heritage Intervention.
Experience in coordinating research projects in the field of Modern Architectural Heritage.
Selection Methods: The following selection methods will be applied:
Evaluation of scientific and professional path (70%);
Interview with the top candidates (30%).
