Current opportunity: EAP Counsellor

Location: Portugal
Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid or Remote depending on your proximity to our Paço de Arcos office.
Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

What you will do:

Our EAP Counsellors engage with participants over the phone, video, chat & email while demonstrating what we call: The Power of a Good Conversation – creating a connection with the client to ensure they feel heard, supported, and cared for.

It's difficult to describe an average day for our counsellors, as each caller presents with a unique set of challenges, and it would be from your clinical conversation that would help each person navigate a way forward. If you are a mental health provider that wants to provide emotional support with a warm and empathic approach to people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds from around the world, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities:

Provide single session counselling, in-the-moment support and crisis management over the phone, video, chat & email in a supportive, ethical and professional manner while maintaining client confidentiality.

Assess clients thoroughly to ensure appropriateness for short-term counselling.

Assess and manage high-risk calls and work closely with individuals at risk.

Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach.

Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.

Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in the case management system.

Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.

Qualifications/Skills:

To excel in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:

Applicants must hold qualifications in Clinical Psychology.

2 years of experience in Clinical Psychology.

Applicants must be members of the Portuguese Board of Psychologists.

Fluent in Portuguese and English.

Experience in solution-focused counselling.

Excellent IT and administration skills.

Experience of working within a service centre environment would be advantageous.

Experience working for an organisation with listening/counselling/support services would also be an advantage.
