The team
The Core Engineering team is dedicated to enabling agents and supervisors to manage voice, email, chat, SMS, and social interactions in the most effective way. Core Engineering team owns components that drive caller and agent experience, finding the best agent, call control, automated dialler, call recording, integrations with customer relationship and workforce management systems, and many other core components of a modern contact center service.
The role
As a Director of Engineering for our Advanced Call Distribution solution, you will lead and build a distributed team of engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining a critical component of Five9 Contact Center operating at high scale in the cloud. You will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, architects and other engineering teams. You will contribute to Five9 product design, processes, engineering practices and choice of technologies, overseeing the technical strategy, execution, and delivery of our products and projects.
How you contribute
Provide strong leadership to the engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering talent.
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define project requirements and priorities.
Develop and communicate a clear technical vision and strategy aligned with the company's overall goals.
Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, architecture, and quality assurance.
Collaborate with other departments, including product management, marketing, and operations, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to product development.
Skills, competencies and qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience for more than 7+ years in an engineering leadership role.
Strong background in software development, architecture, and project management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire technical teams.
Experience with agile development methodologies.
Experience with public cloud providers.
Experience with contact center industry a plus.
